What shapes a Long Beach move

Long Beach combines a busy port, a walkable downtown, and quiet coastal neighborhoods. High-rise buildings, street parking, and bridge traffic each shape how a move comes together.

01

Downtown high-rises

Downtown Long Beach is full of high-rise apartments with loading docks and freight elevators. Reserve loading access and confirm building rules before move day.

02

Coastal neighborhoods

Neighborhoods near the water mix bungalows and apartment buildings. Street parking is tight in places, so reserve a truck-length spot near the door.

03

Port traffic

The Port of Long Beach keeps trucks moving through the city all day. Plan loading off-peak and route the drive away from the busiest corridors.

04

Walkable streets

Many blocks are walkable with narrow lanes and parked cars on both sides. Clear the path and keep the truck close to the entrance.

Common local moves

Typical Long Beach move scenarios

Long Beach moves center on downtown apartments, family homes, and relocations across the coastal cities. Each pattern has its own access story.

Apartment

Downtown apartment move

High-rise moves depend on elevators and loading access. Confirm the booking with management and keep the hallway clear on move day.

Household

Family home move

Family homes fill a full truck with furniture and boxes. Clear the driveway and pack room by room for a steady load-out.

Relocation

Coastal relocation

Moves between the beach cities stay close but cross busy corridors. Plan the route around traffic and keep the drive short and steady.

Move-day prep

Long Beach preparation checklist

A few steps keep a Long Beach move on schedule. Run through these before the crew arrives.

  1. 01

Reserve the freight elevator and loading dock with building management.

  2. 02

Reserve truck parking and keep the spot clear from the night before the move.

  3. 03

Plan loading off-peak to avoid the busiest port traffic.

  4. 04

Clear the path from the door to the truck in tight walkable blocks.

  5. 05

Pack an essentials bag with documents and first-night items for the new home.

They did a real professional and neat moving job, nothing broken or misplaced.. They were on time, clean and wrapped all of the items up in protective cover. Very polite with all of our moving questions.

This moving was the best I have ever encountered on my many moves (hopefully, this is my last!). They were very experienced and accomplished some real heavy duty lifting and tight turns on the stairs. They completed the job perfectly and with such professionalism. I highly recommend Get R Done Moving!

Fantastic service. Setting up for a move was easy, The movers showed up on time, were quick in moving everything into the truck, and quick moving everything into the new place. They did not complain or gripe and were very friendly. Pricing was very good overall if we had to move again we would go with Get R Done Moving!

Everything went well. The team was on-time and careful, and worked quickly on both ends. Price was transparent and fair; provided good pre-move checklist and communication. We would definitely use them again.

I recently had my second move with Get R Done Moving and it was so great!! I already knew I wanted to go to them again because my past move went so well. This time around was no different! Our movers, the crew, did an incredible job. They were friendly and kind, and made sure that all of our belongings were well taken care of while also making the move remarkably fast and efficient. I can’t recommend Get R Done Moving enough and will definitely return to them if I need to move again!! Thank you so much!!

Unimpressed. One mover kept complaining that they couldnt do one thing or another. ie, Stack the dryer on arrival to the new house, cant do that. Thye used a ridiculous amount of tape and everything was taped together when I arrived. They left the rolls of tape and mess around the house.
